Hi folks! This is the first month of my Akashic exploration of the Plant and Fungi Kingdoms. I'm eager to learn how these beautiful organisms want to interact with us and what wisdom they want to impart. My first of these conversations was with Rosemary, salvia rosmarinus, formerly known as rosemarinus officialis. As I walked into Akasha, I was brought around the Hall of Records to a beautiful field. It was sunny, but not too hot, and the grass beneath my feet was lush and springy. My escorts, two Devas (elemental beings who protect and care for Rosemary) brought me to a living labyrinth of rosemary. As soon as I stepped foot into the labyrinth, I found myself transported to the center of it, sitting before an ancient and powerful Rosemary Bush. As I sat before her, she began to tell me her stories…

“The nature of Rosemary,” she said, “is in our dualities: how we are sturdy yet flexible; we are soft to brush across, but we will also poke you if you harm us. We hold the elements of water and air at once, and we anchor them into the earth, into the sand. We are a marriage of the high air currents and the surface of the seas. ”
The colors of her energy signature were sun yellow, and blue with wispy periwinkle threaded through it, as if to illustrate this elemental balance. She reached her branches toward me and we embraced as she continued sharing her wisdom.
“Our original purpose on Earth is to awaken and connect with the psychic centers of small creatures: the squirrels, mice, and rodents. We help them become more aware of their surroundings, find sustenance, and create safety for them. As humans came along, we extended this gift to them too: we can pierce the third eye to illuminate Truth.
The reason that we work with humans is because where humans go, an energetic Sludge is sure to follow. This Sludge is a malevolent toxicity that sucks the light out of humans. We have the medicine to pierce the Sludge and cleanse humans of it by connecting with the third eye and giving them access to the spiritual principle of Truth. Where Truth is, the Sludge cannot touch. This is how we fulfill our primary purpose.”
She showed me the undersides of her needles, where their medicine is kept, and shared that humans need to learn how to touch and care for rosemary properly. “We will impart our sunshine energy if we are caressed upwards from the bottom of our stems to the tips. We share the wisdom of the sea when humans run their palms along the edges of our shrubs.” I learned how we humans should look to the Devas to learn how to tend to rosemary. Each bush has at least two Devas who tend to them whether they grow indoors or out in nature.
Because humans have taken rosemary out of its natural habitats, Devas take the energy of the sea and the nutrients of the air and bring it to rosemary wherever they are planted. They enrich the soil and air around each plant so the air and sea wisdom can be drawn through the roots, up the stems, so its medicine can be stored in the needles. When humans abuse rosemary with poor soil and water conditions, the Devas become starved and weakened, unable to properly care for the rosemary under their charge.
We must show respect and gratitude for the work of the Devas by creating ideal growing conditions for our rosemary, wherever it may be. When we handle or use rosemary, we are taking their medicine. To balance this energetic exchange, we must in return take a moment to thank the Devas and Rosemary, to send that positive energy into the rosemary we tend to or use, in order to strengthen the Devas and therefore the Rosemary.
As I prepared to leave Akasha, Rosemary embraced me and I felt the love and generosity of her message. I hope that I have honored her in sharing this with you, and I send her my love for this gift.
